Anita Faller was not listed on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School along with a short list of others labeled Women in World War II.

Here is a list of the women we have on our list, who served during World War II that we know of; we are sure there are more.

The women are: Alice Root, Barbara Perrine, Bernice Stevenson, Eleanor Pfeiffer, Irene Barnes, Jeanne Barlow, Elizabeth Kingsley, Geraldine Eckhardt, and Bernice Preen.  All are listed in that order on the first row of the Veterans Wall Unit at Hackensack High School.

The following information was received from a phone conversation on October 12, 2010 from Donald Faller on his sister, Anita Faller.

Anita Faller is a 1939 Hackensack High School graduate.  Anita joined the Army and was a nurse stationed in Belgium and England during World War II rising to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

Anita Faller’s brother, Louis Faller, was a pilot in the
Pacific Theater in March of 1942 when he never returned from a mission near the Fiji Islands.

The New Milford VFW is dedicated in his honor.
